That Grand Designs show is an infectious thing, I seem to lose track of time for an hour while watching people build amazing things from what are often nothing more than a few beams in a pile of mud.
Thing is, it’s got me fascinated now and looking at anything remotely related to cool buildings. Which is how I found out about the Australian Timber Design awards, now in their tenth year apparently. They give awards to buildings and structure that exemplify quality in design and user of timber – oddly enough.
Including things like this:
Until recently I used to think that “timber buildings” really only included your garden shed or the odd log cabin and represented a kind of… archaic approach to buildings. Now though I can’t get enough of the stuff and wished I worked somewhere like this:
Seriously, how could would it be to work in an office that featured styling like that?
